Hypernia Web Hosting, Partners with GamesMasters.com, for Cabal Online

Manchester, United Kingdom - (The Hosting News) - June 30, 2008 - Online hosting services and solutions for the interactive entertainment industry, Hypernia Hosting Corp, has become a global partner with U.K.-based game publisher, GamesMasters.com LTD, for the MMO game, Cabal Online.

Hypernia was selected by GamesMasters.com LTD as their official international online partner based on Hypernia’s lengthy and successful history in the online games space, as it is known for providing tier-1 bandwidth for CDN, gaming and media streaming. Hypernia’s large volumes of equipment, bandwidth and facilities around the world enable game players to enjoy a robust multi-player experience.

GamesMasters.com publishes high quality games for the European online games market. GamesMasters.com is best known for their successful MMO title, Cabal Online, an RPG game product with 90,000 users, with a recent acceleration in subscribers to an additional 10,000 players per week. This rapid rate of increase in players, plus a high level of customer service, ensures that the game remains one of the best free-to-play games on the market.

James Vallord-Costa, CEO and co-founder of Hypernia, noted, ”GamesMasters.com cut their costs for bandwidth considerably after joining us. With the ‘flex computing’ capability of our on-demand utility hosting model, they were able to add new expansions and games without the added risk. Most companies would not be able to experiment with a new expansion or game, but we made it easy for them.”

GamesMasters.com will utilize Hypernia’s on-demand utility hosting model which provided flexibility and cost savings, enabling the company to undergo significant service improvements in recent months. These included the addition of updated payment methods, the release of several large patches which has vastly increased the content of the game Cabal Online, a host of new features including new hunting grounds (the Chaos Arena), new rewards for Player vs Player action (players can now gain EXP from PvP) and several important bug fixes. As a direct result of their hosting partnership with Hypernia, these upgrades have produced positive results and Cabal Online is now one of the largest games in Europe.

Hypernia provided multi-gigabit feeds as GamesMasters.com increased their player base. This functionality guaranteed an excellent Internet connection for players, no matter how many extra users were online simultaneously. To accommodate for game world growth, Hypernia also provided GamesMasters.com with new servers during different periods, while also providing an inexpensive CDN solution to keep the GamesMasters.com patches and downloads affordable for all the new users.

Thorsten Schauer, company Director at GamesMasters.com LTD offered, ”GamesMasters.com believes that game play should be easy and convenient for all MMORPG game players. With that in mind, Cabal Online was designed for new users and other MMORPG users who will be able to easily adapt to our game system. Cabal Online does not require long periods of game play. Hypernia’s role as our global hosting partner has been instrumental to our marketplace achievements with this game play plan for our customers.”

By allowing GamesMasters.com to host their own files, Hypernia helped keep users on the Cabal Online web site, instead of impacting the site’s ‘’stickiness” by driving players to third parties for file down-loading. Hypernia also provided full 24-hour customer support, a crucial feature since more than fifty percent of the Cabal Online players are based in Europe.

With the intention of providing a rich diversity of gaming styles for our customers, Games-Masters.com publishes MMO games from both the USA and Asia. The product of these two deeply differing cultures provided a gaming experience to suit all, and even niche groups of players. Initially, GamesMasters.com began publishing games crossing several genres such as Fantasy, Sports, Real Time Strategies and even Casual gaming, before expanding further into other genres.

Founded in 2001, Hypernia Hosting Corp engaged the Internet data center market with innovative service offerings that would help businesses and individuals take advantage of the speed and global reach of technology and the Internet. Hypernia believes that for organizations to be successful, they need a partner that provides solutions that spark independence and confidence in their new way of doing business. Hypernia established its high volume network for intense application hosting such as online gaming in 2002, and continues to be a leading provider of complex Internet hosting for enterprises with mission-critical Internet operations.

Web Hosting Provider, LeaseWeb, Supports Twenga Business Network

Amsterdam, The Netherlands - (The Hosting News) - June 27, 2008 - International business hosting services firm, LeaseWeb’s dedicated solution, has been chosen to support e-commerce Global online shopping comparison web site, Twenga.

Twenga chose hosting by LeaseWeb, in order to initially obtain all of the product data from e-commerce websites indexed, since the company needs more than 100 dedicated servers. LeaseWeb has installed the dedicated servers at EvoSwitch, the CO2-neutral datacenter. Expanding rapidly internationally, Twenga chose The Netherlands for its hosting provider.

LeaseWeb provides a Linux-based dedicated hosting solution to Twenga, which uses the sizeable LeaseWeb hosting network (with a current capacity of 210 Gbps). The rapidly growing solution initially uses over 100 servers divided over several 19-inch racks at EvoSwitch, the CO2-neutral datacenter.

The hosting solution’s design was developed by Twenga’s engineers in collaboration with LeaseWeb’s engineers. The heavy crawl technology will require even more hardware capacity in the near future.

The company has explained, ”A good shopping search engine that displays accurate results with the right products and prices needs a lot of capacity. Right now the TwengaBot uses about 100 servers, which together scan some 100 million web pages per day. But the LeaseWeb engineers will have to add new servers for us every day. I even expect that within just two years we will need to have more than 500 servers in place at the datacenter.”

Recently, LeaseWeb was selected by new multilingual Internet platform for live broadcasting, zaplive.tv, for its international hosting network.
Because of the size of the Dutch hosting provider LeaseWeb, the zaplive.tv went live in April 2008. Everyone can easily make his own programme or even his own web-tv via the portal, all for free.

Companies, institutions and private persons can stream concerts, parties, reports on hobbies or sport events, even press conferences, only using a webcam or camera and a computer with Internet connection. zaplive.tv not only is live but also interactive. Users can communicate via live chat and rate single broadcasts as well as commenting on them.

As an Internet start-up, zaplive.tv hopes to generate enough Internet traffic to attract advertisers within a year. Christian Steiger, Technical Director and Co-Founder of zaplive.tv explained, ”Our earning model depends on the Internet traffic we generate. And it started off well. We had a lot of interest from viewers in the first weeks. One point surely was our programme including performances of top ten bands. We had the finals of German premier league basketball and real Hollywood stars on the red carpet. And one user was streaming live from one of the biggest electronic parties in Germany with DJ-Sets from some of the world’s best DJs.”

zaplive is a multilingual portal for live streaming, based in Germany. Companies, institutions and private persons can use the streaming platform for a live and global broadcast of their events, such as concerts, parties, hobby reports, sport reports or press conferences. Users only need a camcorder or webcam and computer with Internet connection. The streaming technology, on which the platform is based, ensures that the live images can be displayed via the Internet. zaplive started in April 2008 after four months of hard work to take the platform into production.

LeaseWeb is an international supplier of hosting products and services that specializes in both Microsoft and Linux, and focuses primarily on the professional market. The company is among the top 20 hosting providers in the world and provides services such as web hosting, dedicated hosting, colocated hosting, VPS and streaming, as well as technical support. LeaseWeb owns a Cisco-powered network offering a bandwidth of over 210 Gbps, which extends across five data centers in the Amsterdam region via the major telecom carriers. LeaseWeb is also present on Internet exchanges in Amsterdam, Brussels, London, Frankfurt, New York, Vienna , Stockholm, Warsaw, Zurich, Prague and Madrid. Founded in 1997, hosting provider LeaseWeb now manages 11,000 servers. Its customers include Starbucks, Hyves, Telegraaf Media Groep, Koninklijke Joh. Ensched, PricewaterhouseCoopers, AVRO, Direct Wonen, and University.
